WHAT WILL HAPPEN?
A session with a project worker will be set up either at school or at a suitable location near the young persons home.

Initially sessions generally take place once a week and will be on a one to one basis.
The project worker and the young person will agree on what they want to achieve from the sessions.
The sessions are confidential and nothing that is discussed with a project worker will be shared outside the sessions without the permission of the young person unless there is a child protection issue. (This is explained in detail at the first session).

The success of the sessions depends on the young person’s active participation, their truthfulness and willingness to make changes.
Project workers use a range of activities during the sessions to help young people explore their knowledge and attitude towards alcohol and/or drugs and how they fit into their life. Quizzes, games, discussion, DVD's, CD Roms, scenarios, educational exercises and challenges are all used to facilitate an understanding of how you as an individual make decisions and the role that alcohol and drugs play in those choices.
Sessions are tailored to the need of the individual ensuring that the young person can actively participate in the decisions about the work they undertake with the project.
Our Project Workers will listen to what the young person has to say and respect their views and opinions.
